The British Shorthair cat is a compact, stocky cat of medium to large size. You may hear them described as "cobby" They are broad chested, with strong legs & a thick tail. A British Shorthair should have a round head & round whisker pads (chubby cheeks!)

A beautiful feature of these cats is their large round eyes which are always alert. Most colours have gold, copper to amber eyes, however, colourpoints have bright blue.

They are typically a quiet, calm breed of cat. Following you from room to room & quietly nestling beside you. They have a particularly patient nature & are very tolerant. As such, they are perfectly suited to both children & other pets.
